9 years old, really!?

Happy Birthday kiddo! I can't even believe it..my baby is 9 years old! What an amazing weekend it was too. On Friday night we surprised him with a trip to a Blue Jacket's hockey game where we got to sit at the VERY top and had a full view of the whole place. We took our moms with us and all of us had a blast.
On Saturday - his actual birthday - we had a big party at Galaxy Games and Golf with lots of friends! It was a great time and he had such a wonderful day :)

This Is Why I Hesitate

Asshole got out of jail mid January.. He has called a total of 3 times. Kiddo chose to call him back one of the 3 times and they talked for a bit. The end of the call ended with asshole telling kiddo to "tell your mom you want to see me". There he goes putting everything on the shoulders of a child. He's called once since they spoke and that was almost 2 weeks ago.
I got an email on the 4th, though I just saw it today, that says "I need to see (kiddo) within the next 2 weeks". He has not once chosen to speak with me in any form to actually tell me that he's out of jail, where he might be staying, if she's sober and getting his shit together..nothing that in any way would make me feel that it's a good idea to get them together. Aside from the fact that once again he's popping up and disappearing again which takes a huge tole on the kid. It just totally breaks my heart.
I've said it a million times and I'll say it again..either stick around and do good or go away and don't come back.
